![]() If you like thrill rides, this is one of the best rides at SeaWorld. I loved the ride, but it’s definitely not appropriate for little kids or anyone that doesn’t enjoy thrill rides. Manta is very fast and goes upside-down several times. If you can plan better than me, I’d recommend wearing sneakers, so you won’t have to leave your shoes and won’t have to walk barefoot. Once you are seated on the ride (including the over the head harness and a restraint for your feet, the entire ride car tips so you are face down on the track. I wore flip flops to SeaWorld, so I left them in the basket and put my purse in a locker. There are also small baskets by the ride where you can leave items, but they aren’t secure. You can’t bring bags on the ride, and you can’t wear sandals or flip flops, so it’s best to leave those items with a member of your party that isn’t going on the ride, or you can rent a locker at the entrance of the attraction. The coaster was designed to mimic the gliding of a manta ray and goes very fast and upside down. Manta SeaWorld Orlandoĭuring my trip to SeaWorld, I started at Manta, a roller coaster that was built in 2009. You may assume that the rides are for younger kids, but there are several that definitely will appeal more to older kids and teens. I was most surprised by the thrill rides at SeaWorld Orlando. Come on SW the 20th century is over and we are well into the 21st.Must-Do SeaWorld Orlando Rides Thrill Rides at SeaWorld Orlando An independent organization was taking a survey of consumer attitudes and the man said that this was a very frequent complaint. Why this world class attraction would not provide WIFI is a complete mystery to me. NO WIFI! I carry my office with me and am really never on vacation. Interestingly there was only a short line on the Manta and no line at all on the Kraken. Although I am in my late 60's I rode both the Manta and the Kraken. I would have appreciated a bit more information about the sea life we were viewing but one cannot have everything. Most of the others are elaborate fakes designed to mimic real life. ![]() The viewing venues are well designed and have ample shade which was important even in February. First, compared to Disney it is quite compact - you will not have to walk you feet off in order to see most of the attractions. We have previously visited Disney and Universal. My wife and I, together with another senior couple visited SeaWorld for the first time in February of 2012. I only paid about $35 for my dining pass. Keeping park-food prices in mind, I ate and drank about $50 worth. If you get the dining pass your options are: sandwiches, burgers, pizza, pasta, salads, fruit bowls, cookies, pudding, cheesecake, chocolate cake, soda, water, tea (iced and hot), lemonade, and coffee. The only down-side is that each restaurant serves practically the same food. The food was fresh and we were allowed as much as we wanted (including bottled water). The restaurants were nicely spaced throughout the park. It was very convenient and kept our budget down. The Quick Queue is a must! We also tried out the dining passes for the first time. If you don't get the Quick Queue, you will not be able to see everything there is at the park. We walked up the ramp, then stepped on the ride. ![]() The new ride, Manta, had a wait time of about 40 minutes. Get the Quick Queue Pass! It is only $19.99 and totally worth it! In most of the theme parks, the "fast passes" usually just get you a spot in a shorter line. Most of the shows are great and the animals are well treated and people-friendly. It only has 2 main roller coasters, but those 2 roller coasters are top notch.
